Fridah Ndinda Muinde, PhD, MPH, BScN

Biography

Fridah Ndinda Muinde is a Public Health Expert with over 15 years experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Research of Public Health programs. She is currently working with the Kenya National Syndemic Diseases Control Council as the Head of the Research Division. Dr. Muinde holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Master of Public Health Degree from Kenyatta University,  Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Nairobi and a registered member of Nursing Council of Kenya.

In her current role, Dr. Muinde provides oversight for development of policy for HIV research such as the Kenya HIV Research Agenda which provides priorities of research for implementation by the Country in order to achieve the targets set out in the National HIV policy document (KASF). She is also charged with knowledge management and promotion of translation of research into policy and practice for an evidence-based HIV response. She has taken lead in organization of the Biennial Maisha HIV Research Conference since 2013 which serves as a platform that brings together policy makers, Researchers, programmers and Implementing partners to share new knowledge and emerging evidence on HIV and AIDS as well as on related co-morbidities. Also leads in coordination of participation of Kenyan stakeholders in International and regional conferences such as IAS, ICASA among others.

Dr. Muinde has recently collaborated with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education to undertake a study to establish availability and access of Health services among Adolescents and young people and has also worked with various partners as a co-investigator in various studies.
