Robert Shafer, MD

Biography

Dr. Robert Shafer is a professor of medicine, and by courtesy, pathology in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Stanford University. In 2000, he created the Stanford HIV Drug Resistance Database, which is a publicly available resource for those performing HIV drug resistance surveillance, interpreting HIV drug resistance tests, and developing new antiretroviral drugs. His work is focused on the clinical management, epidemiology, and laboratory science of HIV drug resistance.
