Biography

Charlotte Charpentier is Professor of Virology at the Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital in Paris, France, and at University Paris Cité and belongs to the INSERM IAME 1137 research unit. She has been extensively involved in HIV research for many years, particularly in the mechanisms of antiretroviral drugs resistance and in the epidemiology of antiretroviral resistance, and is in charge of the molecular monitoring of HIV infection (viral load and genotypic resistance testing) of 5000 HIV-infected patients followed at the Infectious Diseases Unit of the Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital in Paris. She is a member of the scientific board of the ANRS HIV-2 Cohort. She is a member of the board of the ANRS MIE resistance algorithm development group and of the IAS (International AIDS Society) -USA HIV Drug Resistance Mutations group. She is also involved in research on Papillomavirus infection, particularly with respect to the epidemiology of key populations in resource-limited countries and in anal cancerogenesis.
