Dimitrios Paraskevis is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Dimitrios Paraskevis received his PhD degree in Molecular Epidemiology of viral infections at the Medical School of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. He was awarded a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship at the Laboratory of Clinical and Evolutionary Virology, Rega Institute, Katholieke University of Leuven, Belgium. He is specialized in HIV resistance and molecular epidemiology of HIV-1 and Hepatitis viruses. His research interests lie in the fields of epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, virus evolution, molecular diagnostics, applications of molecular epidemiology studies in the design and implementation of public health and therapeutic interventions, as well and viral resistance to antivirals. He is a member of twenty international and national scientific societies, and a member of the editorial board of seven peer-reviewed scientific journals.
