Dragana Vidovic, PhD

Biography

Dr. Vidovic graduated in molecular biology at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia and received her PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of Leuven in Belgium. She studied gene therapy for cystic fibrosis using adeno-associated viral vectors. During her PhD training, she stayed at Institut Necker Enfants Malades in Paris, to examine phenotypic restoration upon delivery of the therapeutic CFTR gene in mice.

She continued her research as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Utrecht. She studied protein folding, remaining devoted to the ABC transporter family and CFTR protein, whose misfolding causes cystic fibrosis.

Dr. Vidovic joined Virology Education/Academic Medical Education in 2019 as a scientific manager. She has coordinated scientific and educational programs in infectious diseases, mainly focused on COVID-19, RSV, and lately TB.
