Eugénia Negredo completed her Internal Medicine residency at Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona in 1998. She finished her PhD in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2002.
Since 1999, she has been working at the HIV Unit of the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital (HGTiP) in Badalona, Barcelona, as the head of the HIV section. She is in charge of a large number of people with HIV. Additionally, she leads a research group focused on the toxicity and complications of antiretrovirals and the virus itself. Over the last decade, her research has centered on the aging of this population.
She participates in guidelines on the management of comorbidities and aging, both nationally (GESIDA, PNS) and internationally (EACS, medical journal publications...).
Since 2014 she has been a professor and coordinator of the Medical degree at the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia (UVIC-UCC). She has supervised the thesis of 6 PhD students and is currently supervising another.
She is a member of several scientific societies and belongs to the Scientific Committee of the "International Workshop on HIV and Aging" held in Baltimore since 2010, and the "Living with HIV" Virology Education Congress. Since 2016, she organizes the Annual International Workshop on Aging “Aging and HIV”, alternating between Barcelona and Buenos Aires.
