Although based in the UK she spent a lot of time over 5 years traveling to study sites across east and southern Africa and also in Asia including India, Thailand and China, and in Mexico. The diversity across countries was challenging in terms of implementation of research protocols but enriching in helping to understand the benefits and challenges of providing health care across a range of settings and circumstances. She enjoys the learning opportunities in interacting with other health practitioners and strongly believe in the importance of collaborative research in moving towards better health care outcomes. She also has experience in basic laboratory science research during undertaking her PhD in HIV-hepatitis B coinfection.
