Biography

Dr. Radhika Sundararajan is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and in the Center for Global Health. She is a physician-anthropologist and NIH-funded implementation scientist. She earned her M.D. from NYU and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and has spent over two decades using qualitative and mixed-methods approaches to evaluate how social and structural factors shape access to care. Her research focuses on task-shifting and community-centered interventions, partnering with traditional healers and community health workers in Africa and South Asia to strengthen HIV and maternal health care. Across settings, her work centers community engagement — building and testing interventions with communities and providers to close the gap between evidence and practice.
