Aaron Sunday is a youth living with HIV and a TB survivor, a visionary leader, public health specialist, and award-winning advocate driven by personal experience and passionate about achieving social justice and ensuring access to quality HIV and SRHR services for adolescents and young people in their diversity. Aaron has over nine years of expertise in advancing operational efficiency across Nigeria, at regional levels, and globally. Since 2015, Aaron has supported the development of several sub-national, national, regional, and global policies, guidelines, strategic plans, frameworks, and investment cases on HTS, TB, Malaria, SRHR, GBV, RMNCHA+N, youth health and development, etc.
He played a significant role in ensuring meaningful engagement and participation of AYPs across decision-making platforms and forums, both at the national, regional, and global levels, amongst such as AU, Global Fund, UNITAID, PEPFAR, and the UN system etc. In 2015 he founded the African Network of Adolescents and Young Persons Development (ANAYD) and aside his current employment, he is serving in the following key positions: Key Advisor and Member-NGO delegation to UNITAID Board, Alternate NGOs Delegation - Global Oxygen Alliance (GOA2L), CRG, EGC Shadow Leads- Developing Countries NGO Delegation to the Global Fund Board to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and Strategic Advisor- The PACT Global.
