Biography

Dr. Aarti Kinikar is Professor and Head of Pediatrics at Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College (BJGMC), Pune, India. She serves as a Principal Investigator for several pediatric studies conducted through the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), a BJGMC–Johns Hopkins collaboration, contributing to numerous NIH-funded trials focused on advancing clinical care in HIV/TB, respiratory health, and other infectious diseases.

Her work has been driven by a longstanding commitment to clinical research aimed at improving pediatric health outcomes. She was a Fogarty Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, where she received training in pediatric HIV, pediatric tuberculosis ; epidemiology, and biostatistics. Since 2017, she has been actively involved with the TREAT Asia Pediatric Network of IeDEA Asia-Pacific, contributing to collaborative research initiatives. She has previously served as Co-Chair and currently serves as Chair of the TREAT Asia Pediatric HIV Observational Database (TApHOD) network. She has also mentored several early-stage investigators and students.
