Biography
Dr. Alina Pang is an Assistant Project Scientist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Care at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Pang received her PhD at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Cell and Molecular Biology and completed her postdoctoral training at Weill Cornell Medicine in Infectious Disease. Her research focuses on how HIV and aging affect the immune system at the epigenetic level in older people with HIV, including comorbidities, responses to metabolic therapeutics, and epigenetic estimates of biological aging. Her recent work utilizes multiomic approaches, including DNA methylation and single-cell profiling, to characterize signatures of brain aging and CNS pathology.
