Biography

Dr Àngel Rivero, MD, received his MD in the Universitat de Barcelona, and obtained his specialty in Internal Medicine in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona . He does clinical assistance and clinical research in the Infectious Diseases Dept. of the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital in Barcelona and at BCN checkpoint / BCN PrEP Point since 2018.

He has been a panel member of the PrEP guidelines at the GeSIDA group (AIDS group of the SEIMC Spanish society). He started caring for patients with HIV/AIDS at Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol 6 years ago and is actually involved in a Project to integrate HIV care in the community Center BCN Checkpoint. Since the start has been implicated in the PrEP implementation strategy from the community, becoming medical Head at BCN Checkpoint, where PrEP is delivered to more than 4000 users.
