Biography
Annemarie Stengaard, MSc, is a senior public health expert at the Centre of Excellence in Health, Immunity and Infections (CHIP), Copenhagen, Denmark. She has over fifteen years’ experience of working in global public health, including 12 years in the WHO Regional Office for Europe HIV, viral hepatitis and TB Programme and six years at CHIP. She has a background in public health science, research methodology and epidemiology and a strong interdisciplinary approach to her work, rooted in her current role as Area Responsible for Public Health Research Outputs at CHIP and former role as the HIV, viral hepatitis & STI Strategic Information advisor in the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
She is involved in the coordination of several activities under the EuroTEST Initiative, whose secretariat is based at CHIP, the secretariat of the Western-Eastern European Partnership on HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Tuberculosis (WEEPI) Foundation, and several projects commissioned to CHIP by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), most noticeably monitoring of progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as they pertain to HIV, viral hepatitis, STIs and TB in the EU/EEA and neighbouring countries.
She has mainly worked in the European Region, including eastern Europe and central Asia.
