Biography

Betty Njoroge is a medical doctor who currently works as a Clinical Research Scientist at the Centre for Clinical Research (CCR) within the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). She received her medical degree at the University of Bologna, Italy and Master’s training in Epidemiology at the University of Washington, Seattle.

Betty Njoroge is the Nairobi Site Principal Investigator for the Kenya Single-dose HPV vaccine efficacy (KEN SHE) study, which investigates a vaccine for cervical cancer prevention. She also serves as an investigator on several other clinical trials, including an HPV vaccine study for women living with HIV, an HIV treatment trial, and a contraceptive ring study. Additionally, she is a member of one of the KEMRI Institutional Review Board (IRB) committees.

Her research interests include HIV prevention, female-controlled methods for dual protection against pregnancy and HIV/STIs, reproductive health, safer conception studies, research methodology, and research ethics. She is also involved in training on ethical issues in research.
