Biography
Ms. Bonolo Bonita Phinius, MSc, is a published biomedical research scientist pursuing her PhD at the University of Botswana in collaboration with Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership (BHP).
Her project integrates the burden and diversity of HBV among people living with HIV in Botswana - the most extensive HBV study in the country.
While she has received most of her training from BHP, she has trained in various technical skills from other institutes, including Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard.
She was awarded the Chevening Scholarship to pursue her MSc at the University of Bradford, UK.
Ms. Phinius works closely with undergraduate students from various universities in Botswana and internationally to foster capacity building in infectious disease research.
At the early stages of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, she was part of a team that established capacity for SARS-CoV-2 testing at BHP.
