Dr. Bruce Levy is the Hersey Professor of the Theory and Practice of Physics at Harvard Medical School and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Brigham. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He then completed residency in internal medicine, a chief medical residency, and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). Dr. Levy cares for patients in the BWH Lung Center, where he has helped to establish the Severe Asthma Clinical Center and the COVID Recovery Center.
Dr. Levy’s Airway Inflammation and Resolution “AIR” laboratory aims to identify new pathways to resolve pulmonary inflammation, infection, or injury and then translate these findings to the pathobiology of important diseases, including asthma, pneumonia, ARDS, and Long COVID. He has been an active participant in NIH grant review study sections and, most recently, served on the Board of Scientific Counselors of the NHLBI. He is an elected member of the ASCI, AAP, and Interurban Clinical Club. He is active in the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and has served in several leadership roles for the ATS, including as Chair of the Publication Policy Committee and a member of the Board of Directors.
