Dr. Casimir Manzengo Mingiedi, MD, MPH, leverages his 27 years of public health experience to drive impactful hepatitis programs across Africa. As WHO's Regional Hepatitis Advisor since 2018, he has empowered 30 countries through strategic planning, technical assistance, and training, leading to effective program implementation, Hepatitis B PMTCT integration in Antenatal care services, simplification of hepatitis management. A pioneer of PMTCT implementation in DRC, he champions triple elimination advocacy, partnering with diverse stakeholders including First Ladies of Africa. His passion lies in ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all.
This module focuses on strategies and real-world experiences aimed at eliminating vertical transmission of hepatitis B, alongside HIV and syphilis, in African settings. Through case studies from The Gambia, Namibia, and broader contexts, participants will explore implementation successes, challenges, and the impact of funding constraints on triple elimination efforts.
