Biography
Dr. Chia-Jui Yen is the Deputy Director-General of the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA), Ministry of Health and Welfare, Chinese Taipei, and a Distinguished Professor at the College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). He is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of national health insurance policies, as well as strategies to strengthen the quality and sustainability of the healthcare system, with a particular focus on medical review and pharmaceutical benefits.
Before joining the NHIA, Dr. Yen had a distinguished academic and clinical career at NCKU and NCKU Hospital, where he served as Director of the Department of Oncology, Director of the Cancer Center, and Deputy Director of the Clinical Trial Center. He also held professorships in oncology, internal medicine, pharmacology, and clinical medicine.
Dr. Yen earned his M.D. from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and his Ph.D. in Clinical Medicine from NCKU. He completed his oncology training at NCKU Hospital and was a Visiting Scholar at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
