Biography

Professor Chia-Yen Dai, MD, PhD is a Distinguished Professor at Division of Hepatology, College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, and the Vice Superintendent of Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital. As a leading hepatologist with over three decades of clinical expertise, he specializes in hepatitis C virus management and epidemiology. Dr. Dai has published more than 500 papers extensively in peer-reviewed journals, serves on editorial boards of major international journals, and leads Chinese Taipei's hepatitis C elimination initiatives. His pioneering work in micro-elimination strategies for special populations, including persons who inject drugs and incarcerated individuals, has contributed significantly to Chinese Taipei's achievement of WHO Gold Tier status in hepatitis C control.
