Biography
My name is Claire Coumau, PharmD, PhD currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Centre of Research and Innovation in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences in Lausanne University Hospital, University of Geneva, Switzerland. My research focuses on the safety of oral anticoagulants in older adults, with particular emphasis on drug–drug interactions and the detection of haemorrhagic adverse events in hospitalised patients treated with these agents. I contributed to the development and validation of a multimodal, multisource, and multicentre data-driven approach for detecting adverse events related to antithrombotic drugs in elderly inpatients, combining information extracted from both structured and unstructured components of electronic medical records. In parallel, I developed the content of a dedicated drug–drug interaction tool for oral anticoagulants, featuring a standardised three-level risk classification system encompassing both pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic interactions for six oral anticoagulants (rivaroxaban, apixaban, dabigatran, edoxaban, acenocoumarol, and phenprocoumon).
