Biografie

Claire studied medicine at the university of Maastricht and obtained her medical degree in 2003. She then continued to specialise in General Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases in Rotterdam. After her completion of her specialisation she worked as an Infectious Diseases specialist at Guy's and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, in London, UK from 2013-2022. During all these years she closely worked with the department of Clinical Virology; in 2018 she combined her work with a position at Doctors of the World - UK. In 2022 she returned to the Netherlands with her family and she is currently working as the Medical Coordinator of the Vaccination Advice Centre of the Public Health department in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In her current position she supervises the provided care and advice with regards to Travel Health, Occupational (infectious diseases) risks and vaccination of specific vulnerable groups. She is a strong advocate for accessible healthcare for all populations.
