Biography

Dr. Daniel Lee is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UC San Diego Health. He attended the UCSD School of Medicine to receive his M.D. degree and his Internal Medicine residency program at UCSD Medical Center and an HIV Fellowship at the UCSD Owen Clinic. In 1999, he joined the Owen Clinic as faculty and has remained actively involved in HIV clinical care, clinical research, as well as teaching and mentoring UCSD medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Lee founded and leads the Owen Lipid/Lipodystrophy Clinic, which is a subspecialty clinic which he started in 1999 focused on the clinical management of metabolic complications of antiretroviral therapy and comorbidities. Furthermore, he was the Principal Investigator for the UCSD Local Partner of the Pacific AIDS Education Training Center (PAETC), and currently serves as the Board President of Being Alive San Diego, a local AIDS Service Organization, and a long-time committee member of the California/Hawaii chapter of the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
