Biography

Dr. Dyana Safitri Velies is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan, Indonesia, where she also serves as Head of the Adolescent Health Center. She is a Consultant in Social Obstetrics and Gynecology and practices at Siloam Hospitals. She is currently a PhD candidate at Universitas Indonesia, focusing on adolescent pregnancy. Dr. Velies is an adolescent health advocate with a strong focus on adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH), comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), and the development of adolescent-friendly health services. She serves as East Asia Vice President of the International Association for Adolescent Health (IAAH) and is the co-founder of the Indonesian Adolescent Health Association (AKAR Indonesia). Her work centers on bridging clinical care, policy, and community-based interventions to advance more integrated, responsive, and equitable health systems for adolescents. She is particularly interested in strengthening health system readiness and ensuring that adolescent care models are contextually relevant, especially in low- and middle-income settings.
