Biography

Eleanor J. Ong is a public health researcher, psychotherapist, and health equity advocate from Singapore, currently completing her PhD at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. She is an incoming Takemi Fellow at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Global Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity in Southeast Asia. As a 2025 Pleasure Fellow, she integrates pleasure-centred approaches into her work on chemsex, harm reduction, and HIV prevention. She serves as a Director of The Greenhouse Community Services Ltd, a role that reflects her longstanding commitment to community-led care. As a psychotherapist, she has practised across addiction, trauma, and LGBTQ+ affirming care for over a decade. Eleanor has contributed to international, regional, and local conferences, including the International AIDS Conference, IUSTI World Congress, APACC, and the Singapore HIV, Hepatitis, and STI Congress. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health and is committed to community-centred, equity-driven approaches to health research and practice.
