Biography
Elisa Barroso de Aguiar, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician at the Hospital Infection Control Committee of the Martagão Gesteira Institute of Child and Pediatrics (IPPMG-UFRJ). She is currently pursuing a PhD in the Infectious and Parasitic Diseases Program at UFRJ and earned her Master's degree in Women's and Children's Health from the Fernandes Figueira Institute, Fiocruz, in 2019. Dr. Aguiar received her medical degree from UFRJ and completed postgraduate training in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Her research focuses on pediatric infectious diseases, tuberculosis, infection prevention and control, and health economics.
