Biography
Dr. Emmanuel Musabeyezu is a Rwandan Internist and Pulmonologist with over 30 years of experience as a care provider. Dr. Emmanuel was born and raised in Rwanda. He completed his MD at the University of Rwanda in 1986. He then worked for 10 years as a general practitioner in a district hospital in Rwanda before going to South Africa in 1996 to specialize in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology. He completed his fellowship in 2002 and did 2 years of training in Pulmonology and ICU. In dec 2004 Dr. Emmanuel returned to Rwanda to help contribute to the growth of the Rwandan healthcare system. Since 2005 he has been a consultant at King Faisal Hospital, Kigali, where over the years he also occupied different leadership positions such as the Head of the Internal Medicine and Head of Quality improvement. In 2007, he established the first viral hepatitis clinic in Rwanda at King Faisal hospital while helping to sensitize the Rwandan public about viral hepatitis.
He has been adviser to RBC, the Rwandan Ministry of health implementation arm, that has set up the Rwandan National Viral Hepatitis Program that is now working at elimination of viral Hepatitis C. He has participated in a few publications on viral hepatitis that came out of Rwanda.
