Biography

Dr. Eva Justine Uiso is a Medical Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Muhimbili National Hospital and serves as the head of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit under Internal Medicine Department.

She completed her Masters of Science in Medical Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in 2020 and awarded Masters Degree in Medical Gastroenterology and Hepatology in December 2020.

Eva has been actively involved in the ongoing project of the Establishment of Hepatitis B care and Treatment program in the United Republic of Tanzania, A demonstration project following WHO Guidelines 2015

As a pioneer on Medical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, she has been engaged to some different aspects such as development of National guidelines for Prevention and Management of viral hepatitis in Tanzania, not only that but also developing training materials and modules on the management of viral Hepatitis B and C.

Finally she is the treasurer of Tanzania Association of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Society (TAGES).
