Biography

Professor Gail Matthews is Head of the Therapeutic Vaccine and Research Program (TVRP) at the Kirby Institute, UNSW. She has a strong background in HIV, viral hepatitis and strategic therapeutic clinical trials. She works clinically as a specialist in HIV, Infectious Diseases and Viral Hepatitis at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and is an NHMRC Investigator Fellow. She is the current Executive Chair of the global clinical trials network STRIVE (Strategies and Treatments for Respiratory Infections and Viral Emergencies)
