Biography
Harriet Langanke is a sexologist and a journalist with a special interest in sexual health. As Founding Director of Germany’s Charitable Foundation Sexuality and Health, GSSG, she hosts various HIV related projects, such as the DHIVA magazine for women or the German SHE Programme for Strong, HIV positive and Empowered Women. As a sexologist, her field of research covers sex work and focusses particularly the Internet forums of clients. In the German STI Society, DSTIG, she is counselor to the Board and speaker for the working group “Prevention”. She has a long-standing history in HIV activism, dating back to the early 1990s when she co-founded the Nationwide German Network Women and AIDS. For decades, she is working for and with divers communities relevant for sexual health and prevention issues. Since 2021, she chairs the Combination Prevention Programme of the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG). With her foundation GSSG she is based in Cologne, Germany
