Biography

Prof. Huachun Zou is a Professor of Epidemiology and Health Statistics and Deputy Director of the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) at the School of Public Health, Fudan University, China. His research areas of interest include the epidemiology of HPV, HIV, and other sexually transmissible infections (STIs) in at-risk populations, innovative interventions to prevent HIV/STIs, HIV/HPV related cancer epidemiology, HPV vaccination strategy, and sexual well-being in the older population. His previous research delineated the natural history of HPV in teenage MSM (HYPER), demonstrated evidence that circumcision prevents incident HIV among MSM (CoM), clarified optimal antiviral treatment regimens and care models to improve the prognosis and prevent death among HIV-infected individuals (SMART); depicted the transmission patterns, disease burden, and screening strategies for HPV, syphilis, Mpox, and other STIs, in both China, Australia and beyond. He is the corresponding author for the Expert consensus on preventive strategies for human papillomavirus-associated diseases in males (2025) and the Expert consensus on circumcision for HIV prevention among men who have sex with men (2026) in China. He has published over 300 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, including The Lancet Infectious Diseases, The Lancet Global Health, The Lancet Healthy Longevity, and Nature Aging.
