Biography

Dr. J.H.H.M (Janneke) van de Wijgert (LN) I am a physician-epidemiologist with over 30 years of professional experience, specializing in clinical and public health epidemiology of infectious and immune-mediated diseases. My current appointment is as full professor in the Julius Centre of the University Medical Centre Utrecht. My research focuses on evaluating diagnostics, treatments, and preventive strategies for a range of infectious diseases and their sequelae, including long COVID. I have contributed to epidemic control efforts during the HIV and COVID-19 crises in multiple countries worldwide.
