Biography

Jun Inoue is an Associate Professor of Hepatology at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. He received his M.D. from Tohoku University School of Medicine in 2000 and his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Medicine at the same institution in 2007. Following his clinical training in internal medicine, he has built a distinguished academic career at Tohoku University Hospital, where he has held positions as Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and currently Associate Professor.

Dr. Inoue’s research focuses on the molecular biology of hepatitis viruses, with particular emphasis on hepatitis B virus (HBV), including host–virus interactions and the development of antiviral therapies. From 2011 to 2014, he was a Research Fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he conducted advanced studies in viral hepatitis and strengthened his international research profile.

He has contributed extensively to the field through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at major international conferences. His work has provided important insights into HBV and HCV pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies. Dr. Inoue is an active member of several professional societies, including AASLD, APASL, and JSH, and is committed to advancing hepatology research and clinical practice at a global level.
