Biography

Dr Kagiso Mochankana is a Paediatric Infectious Diseases specialist trained at the University of Kwazulu-Natal. He earned his MBBS at the University of Botswana and a Master’s in Paediatric and Adolescent Health. In KZN, he managed high-volume adolescent HIV services, including complex third-line care, and was a member of the AMS/IPC initiatives across paediatric services. His work focuses on Paediatric TB (and post-TB lung diseases), HIV optimisation, and antimicrobial resistance, with a strong focus and experience in LMIC implementation. He is now focused on expanding paediatric ID services and evidence-based guideline implementation in Botswana.
