Biography

Karabo Veronica Khakhane is a dedicated young mentor, mother, and peer lead from Lesotho with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communication and a Diploma in Mass Communication. She is a graduate of the National University of Lesotho and pursued her studies at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Lesotho. She is passionate about supporting adolescents and young mothers, particularly in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and mental health.

In her role as a peer lead, Karabo provides guidance, mentorship, and psychosocial support, creating safe spaces for young people to access information, share experiences, and build resilience. Her work emphasizes empowering young mothers to make informed decisions, improve their well-being, and confidently navigate the challenges of early parenthood.

Her academic background in professional communication has strengthened her ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, develop clear messaging, and facilitate meaningful dialogue. She combines these skills with her lived experience and mentorship role to foster trust and encourage positive change within her community.

Karabo is committed to amplifying the voices of young people, breaking down stigma around sexual and reproductive health, and advocating for mental health awareness.
