Biography
Dr. Martin Rhee is currently a Vice President in Clinical Development in Virology at Gilead Sciences, leading the clinical development of HIV treatment and cure portfolio. Dr. Rhee led the development of lenacapavir, the first-in-class long acting HIV capsid inhibitor, through the US approval in 2022. Over the past decade, Dr. Rhee made significant contributions in bringing many of Gilead’s novel HIV medicines to people with HIV. Dr. Rhee is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He received his medical degree from Seoul National University in Korea and completed his residency in internal medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and fellowship in infectious disease at Tufts Medical Center.
