Biography

Mary-Ann Davies is a Public Health Medicine Specialist and Pediatric Clinical Epidemiologist jointly appointed to the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness and the University of Cape Town. AT UCT, she leads HIV and other infectious diseases cohort research at the Centre for Integrated Data and Epidemiological Research (CIDER). She is joint Principal Investigator of the Southern African region of the International epidemiology Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA) Consortium. Her major research interests are pediatric HIV treatment and prevention, especially HIV cohort research to address key policy and implementation questions. She also convenes a Masters in Public Health module on Infectious Disease Epidemiology and is Interim Director of the Institute for Preparedness and Prevention of Pandemics in South Africa.
