Biography

Mohammed is the Deputy Executive Director of Ezintsha, a division of Wits Health Consortium, wholly owned by the University of Witwatersrand. He is a seasoned clinical and implementation science researcher who focusses on Medical Technologies, and Diagnostics. His core work has focussed on clinical evaluation of Medical Devices for WHO Pre-Qualification and other notifiable bodies. Mohammed lead the STAR (Self-test Africa) programme in SA, which set out to develop distribution models for 2,2 million HIV Self-tests in South Africa. He serves on multiple Technical Working Groups, and Guideline Development Groups for the SA National Department of Health, the World Health Organisation, amongst others.
