Biography
Nicola Coppola is Full professor in Infectious Diseases at the University of Campania, L. Vanvitelli, Italy. He is also Chief of Infectious Diseases Unit, Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Vanvitelli, Naples, Italy, and Chief of post-graduate course of Infectious Diseases, University f Campania L Vanvitelli, Naples, Italy.
He won three scientific activity awards. He won as coordinator of several national and international grants on microbiological and clinical characteristics of viral acute and chronic hepatitis, HIV infection, infection by multi-drug resistant microorganisms.
Coppola’s research activity has contributed to improve the knowledge on hepatitis viruses (A, B, C, delta) infection and on HIV infection and AIDS, SAS-CoV-2 infection, antimicrobial stewardship. He has been speaker and moderator at 450 national and international Congresses. He has published 419 papers on international Scopus-index journals. The H-Index is 53. He is associate editor for Journal of Medical Virology, Pathogens, Infection, BMC Infectious Diseases.
