Biography

Dr Lim Quan Hziung is serving as a Medical Lecturer in Universiti Malaya (UM) and an Endocrinologist at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). He completed his MBBS, Master of Internal Medicine, as well as Endocrinology subspecialty training at UM.

He is a council member of the Malaysian Obesity Society and an active committee member in the Diabetes Care Unit in UMMC. His clinical work focuses on comprehensive care for patients with clinical obesity, diabetes, and various endocrinology conditions. His research interests include type 1 and type 2 diabetes, population metabolic health, obesity, and its related comorbidities.

He is currently enrolled as a fellow in the Capacity Development program for HIV and Mental Health Research in Asia (CHIMERA) by Therapeutics Research, Education, and AIDS Training in Asia (TREAT Asia) under American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR). He is exploring implementation challenges in incorporating obesity management in comprehensive HIV care.
