Riccardo Rondina

Ferrara University Hospital, Italy

Biography

Riccardo Rondina is an Italian nurse who has been working in the Infectious Diseases Unit of the Ferrara University Hospital since 1988. In the first part of his career, he worked in the HIV outpatient clinic alternating with inpatient work, before being permanently assigned to inpatient care, where he continues to work to this day. From 2000 to 2016, he was a member of the Italian Infectious Diseases Nurses Association (which was later dissolved due to lack of funding), and he also attended and presented his work at both Italian and international conferences. Riccardo has actively participated in local awareness days held on December 1st. Since 2000, he has served as a clinical tutor for nursing students, and since the following year, he has also been teaching as an expert nurse in the HIV nursing program. His greatest aspiration is for students to become more involved in prevention efforts and in fostering meaningful interpersonal relationships with people living with HIV.
