USIKIMYE, Kenya
Alvin "Ruele'' Okeyo proudly identifies as a gay man living openly with HIV. His pronouns are He/Him. He is currently working with USIKIMYE, a transformative force in Kenya that is passionately committed to the eradication of gender-based violence and femicide. Rooted in survivor-centered, feminist, and trauma-informed principles, USIKIMYE prioritizes the holistic well-being and empowerment of those they serve.
In addition to this, his advocacy extends to sexual and reproductive health and rights. He is an active participant with Y+ Kenya, a coalition of Youth-Led Organizations dedicated to amplifying the HIV response for adolescents. Through his podcast, "Sex-Ed by Ruele-ations", he delves into topics encompassing HIV, sexual health, mental well-being, and human rights, aiming to enlighten and engage his diverse community.
Outside of these platforms, he uses his social media presence to champion various causes and is honoured to be a U=U ambassador for Kenya in Africa under the Prevention Access Campaign.
