Biography

Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo is an attending physician in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and a translational investigator whose research focuses on the long-term health consequences of HIV in children, adolescents, and adults in the United States and sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo leads a research program dedicated to understanding the chronic comorbidities and long-term health outcomes associated with HIV. She is the principal investigator of multiple NIH-funded studies in the United States and Sub-Saharan Africa. She serves as site principal investigator for the Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study (PHACS) RISE (Research on Immune Aging, Supporting Reproductive Health, and Perinatal Acquisition: Elucidating Relationships in HIV) study. She is also Co-Director of the Center for Pediatric Global Health at Northwestern University and co-leads the Aging in HIV Working Group at the Third Coast CFAR.

Clinically, Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo specializes in the care of infants, children, and adolescents living with or exposed to HIV, as well as the full spectrum of pediatric infectious diseases.
