Biography

Sébastien Morin is a Senior Manager for Policy, Strategy and Market Access at the Medicines Patent Pool (MPP). He has over a decade of experience in biomedical research, public health, policy, and advocacy, with a focus on HIV and other infectious diseases. At MPP, Sébastien contributes to strategic, policy, and market access initiatives across multiple disease areas, including HIV, TB, and RSV. Sébastien also plays a key role in paediatric drug optimisation efforts, working closely with the Global Accelerator for Paediatric Formulations (GAP-f), a WHO-hosted network. Before joining MPP, Sébastien served as a Research Officer at the International AIDS Society (IAS), where he led the Industry Liaison Forum’s work on paediatric HIV medicines and regulatory affairs, and contributed to the HIV Co-Infections and Co-Morbidities initiative, particularly around HCV, harm reduction, and TB. Sébastien is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and reports on paediatric drug formulations, access to generic and biosimilar medicines, and public health impact. His earlier scientific research focused on molecular aspects of antibiotic resistance, HIV infection, and the use of nuclear magnetic resonance in biomedical research. Sébastien holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Laval University (Québec, Canada) and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Basel (Switzerland). He speaks French, English, and Spanish.
