As the Executive Director of ITPC Global, Solange leads a global community of activists and allies in their mission to achieve health and social justice through robust community engagement. With a focus on HIV as an entry point to the broader right to health, her work encompasses ensuring access to quality treatment, making medicines affordable, and building resilient community systems. Central to her leadership is the use of community-generated data to drive innovations that respond to the most pressing challenges communities face.
Solange is widely published on the role of community leadership in global health, including in high-impact journals such as The Lancet, and is a leading voice in advancing the intersection of artificial intelligence and community-led approaches to health and development. She contributes her expertise to technical working and advisory groups at UNAIDS, the Global Fund and the WHO; she also serves on the Steering Committee of the Global Public Investment Network (GPIN), which advocates for equitable development financing for global public goods.
For over 18 years, Solange has ensured that the voices of affected communities shape the policies and decisions that impact their lives. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tuskegee University and a Master of Science in Population and International Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
