Biography

Dr. Tetiana Melnyk is a Ukrainian infectious disease specialist with a strong focus on HIV care, research, and education. She began her clinical career at the Vinnytsia Regional Clinical AIDS Centre in Ukraine in 2003 and later joined the Department of Infectious Diseases at the National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, where she contributed to medical teaching and completed her PhD on HIV/HBV co-infection.

Her research interests include HIV and related co-infections and comorbidities, such as viral hepatitis and tuberculosis, as well as antiretroviral therapy, PrEP, and prevention strategies.

In 2022, Dr. Melnyk was awarded the EACS Career Development Fellowship at Saint-Antoine Hospital (Paris). Following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, she relocated to France, where she works while actively supporting Ukrainian migrants.

Currently, Dr. Melnyk is a postdoctoral fellow at the Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health (Sorbonne University, INSERM, Paris). Her research focuses on mortality among HIV/HCV co-infected patients, with particular attention to gender differences. She has been an active member of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) since 2019 and has served on its Governing Board for the Eastern European region since 2024.
