Biography

Dr Tinsae Alemayehu is a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist with more than 15 years of experience as an academic clinician in Ethiopia and Botswana. His research interests lie in pediatric antimicrobial stewardship, and he is currently leading a group doing studies targeting improved diagnosis and treatment of invasive infections in the national pediatric cancer center of Botswana. Dr Tinsae is the Vice President of the African Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He is the assistant editor of the International Journal of Infectious Diseases and is an ad-hoc reviewer and editor of many international journals. He has co-authored many national clinical guidelines as well as the first pan-African antimicrobial treatment guidelines under the Africa CDC. He was recognized as an Emerging Leader in Infectious Diseases by the International Society of Infectious Diseases (ISID) in 2022.
