Biography
Dr Viatcheslav Grankov is a Medical Doctor and public health professional with more than 25 years of experience in clinical medicine, public health and healthcare management. He graduated from Belarusian State Medical University as a medical doctor in 1999; from Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education with Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare management in 2008; from Lund University, Sweden, with Master of Medical Science, major in Public Health in 2016. He worked for 15 years at the primary healthcare level with progressively responsible professional experience of a medical doctor, Head of the Department, Deputy Head Physician and Head physician of Minsk City Polyclinic. For 6 years, he combined his clinical/medical work with functions of Deputy Chairman of Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers, and for 11 years of UN Examining Physician at UNDP. His master thesis was on risky sexual behaviour among young adults in Skane, Sweden. Since August 2016, he has worked as National Professional Officer on Communicable diseases (TB, HIV, Viral hepatitis) at WHO CO in Belarus, including Head of the WHO Country Office a.i. in 2021–2022. Since May 2023 he has been working as Medical officer on HIV and STIs at the WHO Regional office for Europe.
