Biography
With over seven years of experience in advocacy and health promotion, Wankumbu Simukonda is a passionate advocate for adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), HIV prevention and self-care, and social behavioural change. He currently serves as the PATA Field Technical Advisor, where he actively advocates for HIV service integration while championing the implementation of Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) to enhance service delivery and healthcare access for adolescents and young people.
Wankumbu specialises in promoting SRHR, family planning, and HIV/AIDS self-care among adolescents and young people. His strength lies in implementing impactful social behavioural change interventions through community outreach and a strategic blend of social and traditional media. As a dedicated condom advocate, he has focused on improving access and utilization, ensuring that young people are empowered to make safe and informed decisions about their sexual health.
