Dr. Whitney Irie is an is an Associate Professor at the Bursky School of Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis. She is an Associate Director of the HIV, Infectious Disease, and Global Health Implementation Research Institute (HIGH-IRI). She also serves on faculty for the African HIGH-IRI programs in Zambia and South Africa and is an Associate Editor for Implementation Science Communications, co-leading its Protocols section. Her research advances equitable HIV prevention and care for women, emphasizing PrEP uptake and sexual health among Black women in the United States. Bridging domestic and global contexts, she centers community-engaged, equity-driven implementation approaches. Dr. Irie earned her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis and completed an NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
