Biography

Dr. Chan is a Senior Clinical Psychologist of the Kowloon Central Cluster of the Hospital Authority and is the Team Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong. She is also an Honorary Clinical Supervisor for the Clinical Psychology Programs at both The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong. She has a special interest in clinical health psychology and clinical neuropsychology, particularly in the psychological health and neurocognitive functioning of HIV/AIDS‑infected individuals. She is the first clinical psychologist who started clinical psychological services for PLHIV in Hong Kong in 2001.

In the past 25 years, Dr. Chan has been providing clinical services to PLHIV, engaging in research on the mental health and neurocognitive functioning of PLHIV, and offering training on mental health services for healthcare workers in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the Asia‑Pacific region.
